HOD Message (CycleII)

As our children grow and transition from one stage to another, we watch, praise and celebrate their successes and guide their flaws. The days they spend among their friends in preschool and the sounds of their laughter as they blossom are engraved in our memories.

About the Division ( Cycle II )

Welcome to Cycle Two at OBK College; grades 4, 5, and 6. This cycle serves the needs of 389 students aged between 9 and 12 this year. Classes start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Classes end at 1:45 p.m on Thursdays and Saturdays. School days are divided into 6/7 periods separated by 2 recesses of 20 minutes each. The weekly timetable includes at least one activity session per day such as sports, music, computer, art and theater.

In Cycle Two, we believe that all children deserve a quality education and should have access to all learning opportunities. We implement “Active Learning” strategies and apply the twenty-first century skills in our classes. However, we do not just focus on academic performance; we also put emphasis on attributes such as cooperation, compassion, integrity, innovation, respect, and good citizenship. A lot of time is spent on training students to live by the core values of OBK, and   eventually respect them inside and outside school. In this cycle, we also help our students develop their sense of responsibility, make their own choices and justify them.

Moreover, we focus on extra-curricular activities since we believe they help  develop the whole student. We can't just produce one-dimensional students in our school. Such activities teach students social and life skills.

In Cycle II, we emphasize participation in competitions. Many students are talented, and by participation in competitions organized by Al Makassed or any other institutions, students have a new chance to show their talents and apply their skills. Even if students don't win or receive any of the big prizes, they can still benefit from the opportunities to challenge themselves.

Meetings with the parents are regularly held with the administration and the classroom teachers to keep them informed about the progress of their children. At OBK, we believe that parents play a key role. Success is a team effort, and every player (student, teacher, and parent) is an important part of that team. When every player does his/her best, everyone wins!
