About The Division ( Cycle III )
Welcome to Cycle Three at OBK College; grades 7, 8, and 9. This cycle serves the needs of 223 students. Classes start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:35 p.m. School days are divided into 7 periods separated by 2 recesses of 20 minutes each. The weekly timetable includes activity sessions such as sports and computer.
In cycles III, we set high expectations for every student and work hard to meet them every day. Those expectations manifest themselves in programs that foster 21st century skills in all subject matters.
In Cycle Three, the faculty and staff recognize that a complete middle school education requires us to develop the whole child in mind, body, and spirit, while placing academics as the cornerstone of our educational approach.
Our academic program builds on the foundation of Cycles I and II and truly addresses the needs of the whole child. This program embraces and celebrates this unique developmental period, providing a smooth bridge from elementary school to the coming secondary school. OBK prepares students of Cycle Three for the Official Lebanese Exam (Brevet). Extra support classes are given to students on Fridays to help them achieve better results.
Students of Cycles Three are encouraged to participate in the extra-curricular activities that the school provides. At OBK we believe that such activities have many positive effects on education. Extra-curricular activities affect positively on students’ behavior, academic achievement, and school completion.
Our students also are given the chance to participate in different competitions organized by Al Makassed or another educational institution. These competitions include public speaking in Arabic and writing, athletic, and scientific ones.
At OBK,we strongly believe in the importance of Home-School connection. That’s why meetings with parents are held frequently to keep them informed about the development and performance of their sons and daughter.
